Smallmouth bass dominate Canada’s cooler, clearer, rockier waters — the Great Lakes, Canadian Shield lakes, and rivers. Largemouth bass prefer warm, weedy, shallow lakes and bays, mostly in southern Ontario and southern Quebec. Canada also has rock bass, white bass, and — in the Maritimes — striped bass.
